In the Capped Bust series I think Miss Liberty got better looking as she got older. Compair these four crusty halves, 1822, 1823, 1834, and 1836. What do you think? By 1836 she was a looker!!! LOL :D

Kinda seems like she was too skinny early, and filled out a little as she aged. I'd take the 1836 home to meet daddy. :)

Chuckle, I like a woman with some meat on her bones. It gets cold up here on the high-plains. Give me a gal who won't stay in the bathroom for hours on end and isn't afraid of a little work. One of those skinny (waif-skelitors 28-19-26) just don't do it for me, LOL.

Also (honorable mention) the Draped Bust Lady Liberty was the Original "Miss America" to many early pioneers too. Not only was she pretty but she could raise your kids, kill a bear, and butcher a deer. Admirable qualities even by todays standards ;)

BTW...Dunno if I could kill a bear but I've butchered my fair share of deer in my day

Joesmom, please realize there is no evil intent in the post :D, BTW, Speedy we usually get one a year and I end up making sausage out of about 1/2 of it. Man, I love deer sausage. We cut up a Mule Deer doe just last week. I've even experimented with pheasant/sharptail grouse sausage. Just about the only way you can eat a grouse.

Bone...None taken whatsoever! I always enjoy your sense of humor.

All this talk about venison sausage is making me hungry! I'm down to my last 2 links in the freezer. Good thing my sis is coming next week, I need her to raid Mom's freezer before she comes and replenish my supply :D My Dad always had them make the sausage with garlic...YUMMM!
Hmmmm, maybe I'll defrost some tenderloins for dinner.

Reminds me of a t-shirt I picked up for my brother in law last week...

I've sure learned a different way of doing things since living up in South Dakota (19yrs give or take) I'm originally from Leon County, Texas. The sausage up here is about 1/3 pork and often in links (yep, we have a sausage stuffer) when as a kid I remember my dad making 1lb packages, like hamburger and then after freezing these they would be thawed and made into pure venison patties. I remember mom saving bacon grease to fry the sausage in.

Oh well, maybe the extra grease from he pork keeps ya warm in the colder climate.

OOPS, this is a coin thread. I got a 1972 half dollar in change today ;)

The last Half dollar I got in change was a 1994....don't get that new of halves much...most of the time they are 1974 halves!

The coin was redesigned in 1836 to the "FIRST" reeded edge american coin, also alittle smaller,so new dies were made, also this was the first coinage to use modern prodution equipment to make coins!!

Yes but the 1836 shown is not one of the redesigned ones.
