I found a 1921 Wheat cent today in a bank roll and it has green corrosion and a film over the front and back making it difficult to see the coins detail. There is a spot where the coin is a nice golden color that leads me to think it is a RD coin. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks Rick!

    It's most likely verdigris.
The copper in the cent has combined with some other compound in the environment.
That means the coin's surface has already been compromised.
    The damage is done.
Go ahead and clean it but not by rubbing it with something.
You need some sort of dip.
Someone should be along with more specific info.

I tried the acetone , it cleaned the coin a bit but as you said the coin has some damage.. I was hoping it would be in good condition but ya can,t win them all right. I,ll have to keep looking... Rick
