wow, those are interesting for sure. How can you tell what they are when they've been all cut up like that?

Just looking at the front and the styles of the cross on the back :)

I can't afford to buy complete norman coins, well I can but not in good condition lol.

Cut coins are cool because there more affordable haha :)

Sweet cut quarters/farthings there! Those are quite scarce?

Norman coins seem to be a lot more rarer and valuable than Medieval from what I've seen.

I suspect the reason for that might be the huge recoinages of Henry III and his son Edward I, who recalled all the old 'short cross' type pennies of previous centuries in vast numbers and made them into part of the prolific issues struck in their names....

Very interesting coins Frank! I like to collect Conder tokens. If I lived in the UK as you do, I would probably dig up my whole garden to see what I could find : )
Europe has such a rich and wonderful history.

    haha thanks :)

I've found a few Victorian pennies and a Charles II farthing in my garden.

I envy you. Unfortunately, the place I live was essentially a barren wasteland until the 1870s, so there isn't much scope for finding ancient coins in my garden...
