I have some coins that I wanted to upload because I noticed they had weird errors but I wanted to clean them and I don't have any acetone. Is there something else I could use.

soap and water works well also, definitely limit the use of stiff wire brush
or better still leave as is, they will probably look more natural than some of my clean junk LOL nothing stands out more than a ef40 with no grease and dirt around the rim.

Acetone does not clean everything from coins, just some things, particularly oils. What you use to clean a coin depends on that particular coin, and each one can be different.

The coin must be examined first to determine what to use, and if anything should be used at all.

soap leaves residue and can contain chemicals that would effect the surface of the coin to be cleaned. tap water contains minerals that could deposit on the coin as well. avoid soap, avoid tap water, avoid cleaning until you know a lot more about all the things that could go wrong and devalue your coin(s)... you can however, soak coins in distilled water and carefully air dry them on a soft surface but do not pat dry as it can scratch and impart a pattern from a cloth on the coin.

OP: Use the CoinTalk search function and read some of the multitudes of threads on cleaning, and arguments pro/con cleaning... :thumb:
