Ok, here is the link to some the 1992,1989 and 1983 pennies that looked odd to me. Does anyone know or have seen ones like these?? Thanks http://s943.photobucket.com/albums/ad278/patterson1984/
What is it that looks odd to you. The only thing I see is the discoloring of some of the coins that could be from the handling
One of the 83 has a small dot on the back in the middle of the C in cent. Some of the other ones, the top of the lettering on USofA its like shadowed or... I don't ever know how to explain it. Also on one of them the top of America looks doubled or something
Oh yeah also on the back of one the E is missing in Pluribus Unum. But I'm thinking it looks as if someone scratched it off, wasn't sure though.
here is what you got 1983 environmental damage toning, with a small bubble in the building 1992 small grease strike through, pretty common, possible a slight lamination on left of building 1992 coin shifted in collar, common 1989 same thing as above 1992 same 1983 w dots I call them chicken pox.I have seen alot of these, like air or debris in the planchette some are mint error, but not major errors.no premium for them, maybe in 100 years? still cool to find & collect.Nice finds.
the coins cost you nothing so just keep them because they are different. thats what i do. too me and others there errors but technically they dont meet one of the "catergories"
Wow...that one coin almost looks like it has weld spatter... Having only been at this a very short time, I'll definately defer to the judgement of the professionals.
I think the shadowing effect you are talking about is referred to as die deterioration doubling. You will find tons of those from 83 to 94 or so... Good eye to see the oddities though...
