What do you have to sell?

In coinage what do you have to sell? Maybe listing your items where people who are looking and may buy are right in front of you, if posting ads are allowed on this site that is.

I basically sell just junk silver. If I have something that might be important to someone here, I will keep this place in mind. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you. If I DO decide to sell it. I will certainly let you know first. I would like to get rid of some junk silver and sort through a bunch of stuff first though. But again, thank you.

Well mpc, I sold my first item on eBay in May of 1998, and have never looked back... maybe I'm the exception, but in 12 years and thousands of transactions, I've never had a single problem. It's true that eBay (and their evil sister PayPal) take a little more of your profits... but it is my belief that those profits are much larger than anywhere else. And I've never had any issue with them. So good luck to the OP... and may all his eBay experiences be pleasurable ones.

I have pulled a couple of things after I realized an error. I have never been penalized other than to forfeit the insertion fee.

Of course you are not obligated, but IIRC aren't you the same person who wanted and E-Bay seller who lived in your same town to hand deliver the item so that you could avoid paying the S&H charges? IMO, combining shipping on multiple items won is a much more reasonable request and one that is almost standard on E-bay.

And I also said that I am knew to ebay and am overwhelmed by the work involved, and once I get the knack of it, I will be able to combine shipping. I won't mind doing that.

I was wondering if ebay had a requirement to do that. I didn't want to break the rules.

Also, I asked nicely for the favor. This guy demanded it. A request and a demand are two different things. Anyway, I had already sent the first package before he won the second. I explained that in the letter I wrote him when I sent the second coin, plus I put an extra Buffalo nickel in the envelope.

Ok Im sure everybody is enjoying watching you Badger somebody thats been here way longer than both of us and its clear he doesnt want any confrontation. And quite honestly he had a valid point. you are making ebay money, therefore all the work you put into your auctions is for them. lets quit highjacking the thread now,I wont respond to you anymore even though im sure you will have something very smart to say. Im going to get my to my natural life:cool:

This is a very imformative thread and I'd hate to see it degenerate to a mud slinging, name calling, testoserone fueled enigma. Kindly stop or the mods will be informed......

I sugest writing up a closing to your auction listings that states the combined shipping rates the thank you's good lucks etc. and then just copy and paste it. I used the same one for over a year and if you take your time and make a nice thorough one and all you have to do is copy and paste it, it works out nice.

Also I sold for quite sometime. I seen the list of rules get longer and my percentage get smaller, if you end up getting tired of it there are better options out there. I hope it goes well for you

You don't have to copy and paste. Before you submit each auction you can save the entire format for your next auction (page 2, bottom). Been doing it 11 years. Or just select "sell similar" on your last auction.

Thank yous and good lucks really show your new to selling.
