Is anyone getting an Error when trying to post photos? I tried a couple times, and it didn't accept them. I went to another site, and they posted with no problem. Chris
I'm having no problems. What's the file format you are using? Which way did you try to upload the image? If you are hosting the image elsewhere place the image url in the body of the text here and enclose it with [ bracket img close bracket ] url [ bracket /img close bracket ] No need to upload to CT this way and your image should attach directly into the body of the post.
They are JPEG. I don't use a hosting service. I upload them directly from my ACDSee program. I've already posted dozens of photos previously, but for some reason it won't accept them now. Chris
A lot of us here encounter upload limitations and problems with file size, we usually go with Photobucket and it's the end of the story. Big pics, free accounts.
I've been hosting my own photos for more than 6 years, and I see no reason to add one more pita site to my already too long list. The problem isn't on my end. It's something on this site. As a matter of fact, I just posted a photo a couple hours ago in an Introduction thread. Chris
This forum is fraught with problems. I notice them most in the afternoons, right around this time usually. Photobucket was just a suggestion. It works better than some other sites since certain hosting sites will scale down your images. Photobucket doesn't compress them quite that much and they appear large in the posts here.
Yes, Chris, I just tried to upload pictures as attachments in my DMPL Sacagawea thread and it gave me a "fatal error". I just put them on photobucket and linked them instead.
Also, Peter, the owner of this site started a thread recently in which he'd stated some problems had been rectified. Snappy? Maybe you should post your problem there and/or in the Support and Feedback section as this question should be there rather than in the Coin Forums-- a Mod will likely delete this thread or move it at some point because it's not on topic.
Check your picture size, If it,s to large you will get an error! You can Fix this by either using image shack or photobucket.com they will Automatically resize your photos to fit, It works great, Iam not Sure if your downloading directly from your computer or a website Or if your using a scanner, If your still having problems you Can PM me and i will walk you through it
I just tried to upload a picture from the internet to another thread here, and I got an error. I've posted pics from the net before, and never had a problem.
Size is not an issue. It's 350x350. I'm downloading directly from my computer which I have been doing for 6 years without a problem. They are not scans. I think this is a site error and not on my end. The fact that Jason got an error message, too, should indicate that the problem is here. Everyone keeps telling me I should use Photobucket, but I prefer not to and I don't want to discuss the reasons for my decision. This is the only site where I cannot post photos directly from my computer. I appreciate your offer to help me, but there must be another way to rectify the problem. Chris
I never use photobucket and never have any problems. Could you please list the steps you use, the name of the file (with extension), and size (KB)? Maybe then I can suggest what you are doing wrong. BTW, 350 X 350 is not the size that is a problem. It must be less than 250K KB. Here is a picture that is 2000X2000, but it is less than 250 KB, so it uploads. It was uploaded from "manage attachments" OOPS! - until today. Is this the error you are getting? Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_namespaceid() on a non-object in /var/www/html/includes/class_upload.php(382) : eval()'d code on line 5
In the future, it would be most helpful if you would first post the error you got (copy and paste it) and second put this thread in the "Support and Feedback" section
