Went into my local dealer today and he had 74 Buffalo Nickels in a bag marked "no-date buffalo's 25 cents each". As I started looking through them I realized that some of them had semi-legible dates. Of these I found 3 that are definate and one maybe. I picked up a fifth one with an S mintmark to drill a hole in and stick on my keychain (i'm a coin murderer!). The three definates are a 1917-D, 1916, and a 1925. The other might be a 1923 but idk. And the one I'm drilling is black. Got all of them for a dollar(one for free!). Just wondering how much you think they're worth. The most legible date (1917-D) can be seen from most angles. The others not so much. don't have access to a camera right now. Sorry. And thanks! ~Tyler
Guidance from the Red Book states that for a G4 1917D specimen, date and legends are readable. Pricing for the 1917D specimen at G4 is $18.00. I'm a bit shocked with 177 posts that you don't have a Red Book in hand, yet.
