This short date run of Busties appeared on Heritage not too long ago, so I put in reasonable bids (for me) and was surprised to win them all. All four are in newer ANACS holders, and are attributed on the holder. O 102,103,106,107. They all graded VF and have the look I like. So I knocked out a chunk of my growing CBH set in one swoop. Here they are:
I have been focusing elsewhere for the most part lately, but I do have a few Busties. I really like your 1836 - this date seems to be very hard to find with attractive, smooth, even grey surfaces like yours (and mine). For the most part, they are splotchy and unattractive.
Very good haul. getting 4 in a row is quite a feat. I've slowed down as of late while I'm working on finishing my barber dimes.
Thanks for the comments, guys. The 36 has a faint brownish tone, when you tilt it under light it's multicolored iridescence-- I'll try an axial shot, even though the plastic will be in the way. The 34 has that beautiful Circam look I'm addicted to (partial to B&W photography as well). Tiny rim hit on the rev. of the 36 above CA did not bother ANACS too much, nor me. As for the set, I'm farther along than I thought. Excluding the reeded edges, where I think I'll hold out for a cool type example like the 38-O, I "need" an 1813, an 1807, and of course the ol'show stopper, 15/2, which I might never own. And there are 2 or 3 I bought early in my collecting that reflect my state of knowledge at the time, I would not purchase them now. Ah, upgrades!
Sounds like you have a great set, sparrow. Are they mostly all VF? When I do work on the Bust halves, I'm getting all EF coins. That's my favorite grade. You can see my set here: http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=73014
