They want how much (pre-order) for these? I don't mind takin' a shellackin' on occasion but these bloody prices border on sinful. Are people really that stupid to bite on these at this price? I mean (like) these guys rival the mint......
If there not careful they will price themselves out of business. Oh wait they have people who don't know better and purchase this product anyway.
Tons of people. When people stop buying thats when youll see the premium roll back. It will never get to what it used to be though, between the premium from the mint and the significantly higher costs of transportation now its probably like a 4-5 dollar premium as the lowest it will go.
I stopped buying any and all new US coins. There are too many varieties and cost too much. It isn't fun anymore.
I was a member of a coin club from 2001 - 2005 and every year members would get a Mint BU ASE as part of their membership. Annual dues were only $15. How times have changed.
I tend to fall asleep weekend’s watching the History channel and every weekend morning at 4am sharp I am awakened to the sound of Mike Mezack flapping his jaws…… Seems that all he talks about are ASE’s and any manner of story he can dream up to make them sound like Shangri-La….. Yeah, I think these TV coin hawksters have made ASE’s a hot commodity…. But he did the same thing with gold plated state quarters twenty years ago too. I still can’t believe ASE’s are slabbed these days myself.
The market sets the price though. We’ve seen this before the last time there was a spike that took a long time to normalize premiums. As long as people are buying in large amounts there’s no reason to drop the price. The mint is something like 2.35 a coin directly from them for the massive distributors. 5 or 6 might have been more realistic thinking about it again, but either way it’s just not going to change until sales do
Army/Navy game looming on the horizon.......who's corner you in (as if I didn't know already).........
Lol. Navy for sure, not looking great for a great game this year though. Probably edge to Navy interns of winner. They’ve both not been very good this year with mistakes. If I had to bet right now I think Navy but very little confidence in it this year
May years ago my father convinced me to go sell programs at the game. This is when it was at John F. Kennedy Stadium (formerly Philadelphia Municipal Stadium and Sesquicentennial Stadium) was an open-air stadium in Philadelphia that stood from 1926 to 1992. The South Philadelphia stadium was on the east side of the far southern end of Broad Street at a location now part of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Boy was it cold. Go ARMY
You know there is a demand for the product driving market... people like to be first online on the newest thing. Then people with deep pockets don't feel the pain as much. That's all I got
I remember those cold games......everyone bundled up in overcoats...... I think the reason why they played the game in Philly was because it was the midway point between West Point and Annapolis.
