Hello, I've been a collector of the proof silver eagles since they started and I hated to see them not mint it in 2009. I then found this page at the USMiint. Does this mean that they are going to mint them for 2010 or is this speculation. I was refering to Proof American Eagle. I see the mint is going to offer them if you sign up for a subscription, or is this pending like the '09s were?
Thats for an UNC 2010 ASE.... the topic was proof ASE. They have said they want to make them but no word on if they will. Just looked at your first link and it looks as though they will be making it! woohoo.

Actually in last weeks coin world, Moy stated that the production of the 2010 Proof Silver Eagle is in doubt. He stated that the demand for the bullion Silver Eagle is at a all time high, and there may not be enough blanks again this year to produce them. Go figure, they can produce a 5 oz silver quarter but not a proof american eagle. Dave
That is just the same generic subscription page they had last year. I would love to see them in 2010, but am not hopeful. If the series ends, all those ASE proofs you have purchased over the years will soar in value (beautiful coins, relatively low mintages, etc.). TC
Keep subscribing in the event they actually do surprize you and honor subscriptions first. You never know, but I'd want to be the first on the list ready to buy in the event the mintage was super small or only awarded to subscribers. Just something to think about there.
Not that it did any good but the whole deal last year really ticked me off. I bought one every year from the mint, including the 95W set. If they don't make the proof this year, I'm done with it. I understand the laws they had to deal with but they could have made this happen.
As mentioned in this thread, it is doubtful that the mint will make the 2010 ASE Proof. It is a real shame that they can't make the proof ASE's for us serious collectors. I love the coin.
