Hey everyone, so I thought this would be an interesting topic.
I have split up several TPG graded coins between PCGS and ICCS.
No 1 TPG's for the countries they represent. Both are highly respected, but as I mentioned in another thread (which sparked this topic), I am not a fan of how strict ICCS is.
I will spread out the coins according to the grades assigned by TPG's.
One will be PCGS, and one will be ICCS.
Please decide which coin you like more for each grade, vote , and explain why. Why did you vote for the coin you did, and why did you not vote for the other coin.

We'll start with MS 64, please use the voting system above to cast your vote, and please explain how you came to your conclusion.

    COIN 2 MS 64

The next two coins have been assigned MS 65 by either ICCS or PCGS,
please use the poll, and explain how you came to your conclusion.

    COIN 3 MS 65

    COIN 4 MS 65

And the next two are MS 66, please use the same system as before to vote.

Though I know nothing about this series, it would be fun to participate, but it appears that one image for each grade is a photo and one image for each grade is a scan. If that is the case, it would be hard for me to properly assess the grades since luster is an important factor. If I am wrong about the scans, please let me know.

The very first coin, the MS64, probably ICCS graded is the best of the bunch and would be a prime candidate for an upgrade in a PCGS slab if you played that game IMO. I see a clear difference between the coins you have posted and it is not hard to tell them apart, but for the best grading I would like to see the reverse.

The last one is the only one that looks dead on.

I would have said #1, but is that a hit on the face? Or on the slab?

I'm not sure what exactly you are saying with this. But if I understand correctly you are saying that either ICCS or PCGS graded 1 of the two coins in each group. Or are you saying that one graded one of them the other graded the other one ?

Well, I'd say that coin #1 is the nicest of the first two. It has decent luster, a few hits here and there. But that would be expected on 64 coin. The second coin looks hazy, even appears to have some slight rub on some of the high points. And luster looks pretty subdued, like it was over-dipped a bit. No way I'd grade this con 64.

Coin #3, while it has MS details, has been improperly cleaned in my opinion. A pencil eraser would be my guess. And coin #4 looks to be AU55 to me. Neither of these coins are worthy of a 65. So no vote from me on them.

Coin 5 - with that toning you can't tell from pics what might be hits & scratches or is toning, or toning that has been scratched. But some of those marks look like hits or small scratches to me, especially across the nose and the ear. Based on ythos epics no way I'd grade it 66. Coin 6 is the best of the lot, a pretty clean coin overall. But even this one has its share of small tiny hits. A string of them starting in front of th eye/nose and running all the way to the A above the crown. Some on the neck, some on the back of the collar and quite a few in the legends. Again, I would not grade this coin 66. 65 maybe, if the luster is there, but no 66. So no vote on this one either.

Before I go into a lengthy post in response to all the good answers here, I just want to comment on the voting.
You can vote three times. Vote for each set of coins, which coin you feel is most accurate to the grade assigned by the TPG'S.
And yes, each set has one coin graded by PCGS, and one coin graded by ICCS.
