I bought a bag of 650 wheat pennies from my local coin dealer for $13. I separated it out, it had about a half a roll of teens, about two rolls of steel cents, and various 20-40s. Not too many 50s surprisingly. Do you guys think that was a good deal.
At 2 cent a piece, I think you did real well considering the mix was as good as you say it was. I would jump all over that if it was offered to me.
I'd say you've done very well on your purchase. Its not everyday you can find wheaties for 2 cents a piece. Especially with few from the 50's...
Me too. So what is the general condition of those coins? Be sure you know what to look for in things like double dies, offsets, RPM's, etc. Not sure, check out the www.coppercoins.com web site.
did you find any errors or good dates?once i bought a bag of 2000 wheaties and i found a 1909s i was flippin out with excitement it grades like vg10 or so
Like everyone else has stated in this thread so far , you did good. Now , in order to see if you did GREAT , exam the heck out of each and every 1 of those cents and share some pictures of anything that stands out in your eyes. Did the roll have very many "S" or "D" mint mark coins and if so on which dates ?
I just looked through for key-dates and ones I needed for my album, I'll take a closer inspection to see if there are double dies etc. He has like 2000 Wheat Bags there too and I am thinking about picking that one up.
