http://www.ricoins.com/franklin_monthly.htm This sounds rather good, acquire the 1953-S in MS65 Non-FBL, with all other 34 dates in MS64 FBL, less 5% for $3,700.00 They offer an installment plan. $50 or $100 a month. So.. is this worth looking into... or is it a big pass?
Dunno right off - I don't often price full sets, it would take some looking. But R & I typically sells high end stuff with 65 being the bottom - they must have bought a bunch of mid-grades recently.
Looks like some homework will be required before you can answer the question of if it is a good deal or not...but if I may offer an opinion from a different perspective... If it were me, I would pass. Simply because part of the enjoyment of numismatics, for me, is finding each coin and hand picking them. Personally choosing each one makes me appreciate them even more...not to mention the education I get along the way, coupled with the dealer friendships that are forged as well. Some collectors often buy large chunks at a time like this, and if that works for them/you...great! For me, what fun is the destination without the journey?
This Sounds Good! This guy sounds like he's on top of this market. Eventhough, if I'm not mistaken, he is saying that the coins purchased are not grade certified/slabbed, it appears he is quite qualified to assure you that the grade of coin you are asking for is what you will get. The payment plan is good for middle class workers such as myself who find it hard to pull thousands of dollars out of their pockets for a coin collection purchase. I'm making note of this site. Thanks for the tip.
That is a great places to buy coins.....I have gotten a few of my Proof Franklins there and never had a problem---the coins are strong for the grade too... I think he has done this set for sometime....and the reason...many people want that set in FBL and they can't pay for the higher grades so they want that grade....its cheap and they get it all in one places. But I agree....I would pass because of 2 things....you might be able to get a set cheaper if you buy one by one....and you would get to hand pick the coins you wanted. Speedy
