I noticed in my book that mint state Morgans with this date are quite pricey. What do you think mine might be worth?
That morgan would not be mint state. I would say its quite scratched and there for would be worth about 22-28$
I dont believe it has necessarily been cleaned.It is a AU55 morgan dollar,shows normal wear for a AU coin,luster intact,retails about $250 but that doesnt mean its actual sale value is $250.
I hate to be honest but someone/sometime will tell you the coin has problems. I see minute scratchs and rubbing/cleaning to coins surface. Probably done long ago, but nothing can hide or reverse the damage. Coin still has considerable value. thanks for sharing
