I,m new to this coin collecting and am finding it a bit hard to figure out what is what.. So if anyone an help it would be a great thing. Looks as though the 1971 has doubling as well as the liberty. Thanks for any replies Rick!

The photos are too small to be able to tell.

I don't see any doubling. Typically, true doubled dies will have doubling where at least some serifs are separated and the doubled image will be the same height as the primary image. The Cherrypicker's Guide has an excellent discussion of doubling and similar artifacts.

The CPG lists a 1971 DDO (Date, LIBERTY & IGWT), but the photo is just too small for me to tell.

Though there is not specifically a 1971 DDO, if one does a search on DDO in the left-hand search pane, there are a few good examples of LHC DDOs:

    Maybe a variation of a sort but not a DDO-001 .

Thought i would try to blow up this 1971 coin i have. The last picks were to small and this is as much as i could blow them up. Not sure if it my eyes but i think i do see some doubling mainly on the 1971. Rick

I found if you click on the black photo box it will open an original, making some larger photos.

Never thought of that. I was told they were to small to tell. Although if you click on the box of the pic it does seem to make it a bit bigger. Thanks Rick

Came across this 1968D cent.. as i was comparing it to another i noticed that the D was a lot more closed in compared to the other 68D i compared it to. Is this common among these coins... Rick
