I post here and on CU (PCGS). Also NGC has a good board. Then there's Open Forum Refuge, with a lot of those either kicked off of CU or fed up with the new, more civil tone there. Coins seem almost an afterthought on the Open Forum and it is not for the faint of heart or easily offended.

I belong to several different coin forums and think each has it's own flavor.

Cointalk is probably the most active and friendliest of the forums which is why I post here most often.

The NGC forum is full of extremely knowledgeable collectors but it always seems like the same people and same conversation no matter when I visit.

I am not a member of the PCGS forum because I don't like the way it is moderated or the general attitude of most of the membership. However I do lurk there because there is a lot of knowledge dispensed.

The TCCS forum dedicated to toned coins was one of my favorite forums but it currently has a virus and the I will not go back until it has been removed.

Each site has redeeming qualities and I gather a little bit from each and a lot of enjoyment from this site in particular.

It helps that nobody on this forum thinks you are an alt for the baddest boy in recent coin talk forum history.

You are quite correct, Lehigh96. Mad was just about castrated at his last few forums, which some know about, and witnessed, first-hand (Lehigh96 and I were both there at both places). Turns out Mad's a pretty decent guy, loves, just LOVES contributing (check out his post counts sometime....you DO love posting/sharing, Mad!), has interesting thoughts for thread topics (just look at his 'Late night eye candy...' thread...it's a pretty popular thread, and that Lincoln first posted is luscious). Mad just hit the wrong thread that one day, and BLAM, got it with both barrels before he even got out of the chute. I'm glad he's around and not being accused of being someone he quite obviously isn't/wasn't....

THAT being said, though, Mad definitely IS a character...going detecting at 2am is just a little out of the ordinary, to say the least....lol (insomnia is one thing, but... lol)

Mad, you are an welcome addition here, and an entertaining one at that (you really went without sleep for FIVE days???.....lol....). Keep on posting, Mad!!

Yeah I am a night Owlm and always have been. There are "the wrong place at the wrong time situations" it does happen.I am a really cool person,to be around,to talk to.But if you intimidate me,its ON!!:headbang:....but only fight for good, not evils........5 days, thats the max,any more than that and it becomes very poisonous to body & mind.3 days is a trip,5 days is an awakening;). I m not your average coin guy.And I never thought I would be part of a "community" where it actually doesn't matter what you look like, what your skin color is.But I finally found my home.I stand out in a crowd like a sore thumb. And I sometimes get looked at like I couldnt find a hole in the ground. But that part is OK.In time, where people may not like me or my ways, they will at least like my coins, and thats what were here for coins.as a matter of fact,we are here for coins, and people get in the way:mouth:,but thats OK.In the end,You will have something I adore,I will have something you adore,we will make a bond, swap some stories, swap some coinage.:high5: I never have a problem talking with people,I always look at their side, from their side,I just hope they do the same.In the end,its the all about the Coins.....and our crazy little obsessive habits:eek:dd:

So in a nutshell, get ready for a new Breed of coiners.

Well you're certainly welcome here that's for sure.
Although I disagree with the reason why we're here. I am mostly here for coins, but I remember about a year ago I had lost a bit of interest in coins, but I still found my way to cointalk just to shoot you know what with the guys.
We're all friends here. Whether you've been here for 8 years... Cough* Doug * Cough, or wether you've been here for a week. We're all friends.
I have a feeling I would come here even if I decided not to collect anymore. Speaking of which, I need to send a long overdue playoff email to a CT'er.

I joined the PCGS and NGC forums when they first started and still enjoy them. It's great to chat with old friends. At the same time this site is my favorite because more of the folks are here to just have fun with the hobby.

I frequent coinzip when I have CBH questions, especially when I am caught between two overtons and I want some clarification. There are a few other people that I communicate with on other sites, but I still spend most of my time on this forum

For information about American coins, and for general numismatic info/discussion, Coin Talk is great. But since I primarily collect coins from here (Europe), I sure visit places such as worldofcoins.eu or numisforum.eu ... plus a few others, like German or Dutch forums. Not equally frequently of course, and in some places I read but hardly ever post. :)

I agree 100% with the last. I'm a member of both, and have been for even longer than this one. I used to post at both, but once CT started getting busy I just didn't have the time. I rarely even read the CU forum anymore, but I still read the NGC forum now n then. Haven't posted there in a long time though.

As I recall, last time I did, I disagreed with Mike (Leadfoot) about something. He told me to go home :D

I can relate. Stood at a craps table for 76 hours straight one time.
