Ahoy, me hearties and welcome aboard. Let's set sail for an adventure on the open Seas. Post any ship coins or anything you may find in the sea. Shiver me timbers, Dolphins off the Starboard bow! Don't be a land lubber! Post your Ship and Sea Coins, or ye be walking the plank!
I used to have a lot of coins with ships. Malta 1993 Netherlands East Indies Portugal - no ships but it is Henry the Navigator
Constantine I A.D. 327-8 Ӕ nummus 20mm 3.0g CONSTANTINVS MAX AVG; rosette diademed head right LIBERTAS PVBLICA; Victory standing left on galley, wreath in both hands; in left field B. in ex. CONS RIC VII Constantinople 25
Henry VII angel with mm. Anchor. Struck from very rusty dies on a small flan of good weight. Allectus quinarius. Camulodunum(?) mint Edward IV first reign ryal with mm. Long Cross Fitchee
Charles I angel pierced for use as a touchpiece at the Touching Ceremony. The reverse mm. is bell over portcullis over harp reflecting the limited output of these coins. Assuming their condition permitted, dies were overstamped with the latest mark following a pyx trial. Up to 5 marks are known on a few dies. Angels to the value of £12500 (25,000 coins) were cumulatively struck during the entire reign across all marks, so consequently, all are rare.
