https://www.cgb.fr/live-auction,catalogue,1060.html There is 4 roman coins from my collection inside: Domitian, Aelius, Aquilia Severa and Valens.
Interesting. I see that CGB has a "Live Auction", an "Internet Auction", and an "E-Auction". Can anyone explain, the differences, between these 3 types of CGB auctions?
I don't know the differences between Live and Internet auctions - the FAQ doesn't explain the difference - https://www.cgbfr.com/faq-live-auction.html I know that in the Live auctions, bids placed in the last 15 seconds extend the finish time by 15 seconds - possibly, this doesn't happen for Internet auctions, but I don't know. The E-auctions are weekly (Mondays) auctions with everything starting at €1 and no buyer's fees. There were bargains a few years ago with these, but nowadays things tend to find a reasonable level. the value of the coins of the Live auction (at least 500€) is much higher than those of the internet auction.
Yes, supposedly Live auctions have coins worth 500 € or more, and a paper catalog sent to their customers, while Internet auctions have coins worth 250 € or more and online catalog only. This is only a general idea and theoretical, as prices can be everywhere on both. Quality is fairly better on Live auctions though. Take in consideration their buyers fee will jump from 10% to 15% beginning in january (after the sale @slynop mentions) Q
Ah, makes sense - I have a pile of CGB catalogues - the Live ones are on the top right, some of the others are Fixed Price Lists. They have many ways of extracting our modern money for old. ATB, Aidan.
