True but not many and in alot of places it was illegal to own anything to do with Nazism. and making a medal is a fairly coplicated pratice that takes quite a few people....
True and True. So probably some past guest of Jerry Springer Show would know its origin, but would have had to outsource the production of such!
I know you cant ship Nazi related stuff to many parts of europe.even if it is just a collectible.Alot of people in Germany, are very ashamed about the situation, and dont even want it in their country.
I have no idea where that Adolf token was made but maybe someone will chime in later with information. I have no idea how much the token is worth so maybe someone will answer that question as well. Anyways, I think this token here is worth a bit more b/c it was prior to the genocides and the craziness that Hitler placed on the world during his reign. I vaguely remember seeing this medal on ebay for awhile and I think it's worth quite a bit. Check out the link, there's tons of medals that were made on the subject of Hitler. Anyone? http://www.nsdapuniforms.com/data/r...allions,+Tokens&Filter=NSDAP+Militaria&Page=0
Well, if I wanted to sell nazi memorabilia, I would know where the biggest market for such cr*p is. That medal is pretty common, and was made in the early 1970s as far as I know. Shows up fairly frequently on eBay, Delcampe, etc. and costs a whopping $10 or so. Christian
Cannot tell how much that is worth since I don't collect nazi stuff. But here is some info about the background of that piece: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudetenland_Medal Christian
Umm, what that page says is mostly bogus. But of course it makes some sense to have a "good" story in order to get a better price for what one wants to sell. Those pieces were made in the 70s/80s (probably in Italy), and feature various people - Marx, Mao, Franco, Mussolini, etc. But for the US market, the Hitler piece is probably the important one. Still, it should not be all too difficult or expensive to get one ... Christian
Hey I was just noticing that this link has the Adolf token in silver and mine is made of copper. When someone gets around to it can you check the ebay price of selling one that's copper? I would do it myself, but I never get answers on the box. I think I must be entering the wrong info cause I never get answers at all, besides I'm at work and I don't even have access right now. thank you
Actually it could be the same coin. looks like it could be a "silver" coin that was acid dipped, showing the worthless copper core. Like many commemoratives we see - 1 pound coin, sold on e-Pay.
Those possibly Italian medals that I mentioned in my previous post were not silver pieces but silver-coated base metal. But of course, if that seller guarantees that the Hitler "commemorative coin", as he puts it, is Ag 900, that may well be a different version ... Christian
Yes but did you see one just like the one I've posted, can you post a link please? I looked at ebay and although there are many 1938 coins going for 2.99 there are not any like the two I've posted. I'll look some more and thank you friends!! :thumb:
All the despots... I wonder if there's the Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Papa Doc, and Chauchescu commemoratives, too...
The Hitler piece is listed in one of my references, "Medallic Portraits of Adolf Hitler" by R.W. Colbert and William D. Hyder. This piece is listed in the Fantasies and Modern section, and has been assigned id number C-405. Their translation of EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER is one people, one empire, one leader. It lists a diameter of 35mm, but it says that the metal alloy is undetermined, but mentioned that it is silver-like. It looks like yours may have had a silver colored plating on it which has been largely worn off. The year preceding the 1945 date should be 1889. As a side note, there is a very similar piece, id C-404, but Adolf is incorrectly spelled as "ADOLPH". My book does not provide any values, but they would be terribly out of date even it did as the book is from 1981.
Much thanks, I appreciate the info as I'm about to list the other medal in this thread on feebay. The Adolf token is the one which troubles me a bit as they currently sell them on ebay and they do have some type of silver plating on them for $40. I know the Adolf token isn't worth much but I know it's vintage, even if it was only made in 1981. I don't know why but I'm hesitant to list it. I wonder if the same company who is making the silver plated ones now made them back in 1981 or if another company made them. Who knows, maybe I'll place it on ebay next week or something. Always, thinkin about that extra dollar.
