Trying to organize my collection and came across this. Forget the coin. Does the slab have any merit? Small size: 2 1/16" x 2 7/8"
I have one in my collection. I wouldn't say they are rare. But if you look for them you might see 1 or 2 at a larger show.
I say no.... I've always eyed anacs soap bars for varieties. The slabs do many times list the variety as well other information. But this slab style is at the end of this type slab. Plus I noticed details on the slab scratched well I had 4 Anacs slabs that like yours had Scratched, corrosion, and guess what all 4 straight graded. IDK when these slabs were graded the standard for scratched or rust ....but they must of had a strict rules concerning the two. BTW the 4 Buffalos were 64 and 3 were 65's. I would break it out and send it in and see what PCGS or NGC grades it. Where is the scratch on your coin John? I can't see it. To be honest your specimen looks alot better than a vf.
I just looked at my large images of the coin. Tough grading by ANACS! It appears what they saw was the horizontal mark from the rim to the 1 in the date. But since both the 1 and the 8 look like they took a hit at their tops, the "SCRATCHED" comment could be correct.
The scratch is there, but man they really gave that coin a bad mark IMO. The bust has a lot of details.
