Let’s see those AU58+ coins

I been blessed with some nice coins over my years of collecting but this AU58 half makes me smile each time I look at her.... And I never tire of looking at her...

 

I don't collect slabs. I hope to some nice coins on this post.

 

This is the only Cheerios AU58 I am aware of. Even if cleaned, very rare coin. Roughly 200 other Cheerios Dollars have been graded but I would guess 10% have crossed over. ANACS shows three AU55 in graded census. They are behind on adding this one. Note the coveted Tom Delorey autograph.

 

I don't have any AU58 coins. I only buy MS61 our higher. I'm not an expert at grading coins and probably never will. I know that there are some coins that can never get higher than an AU58 because of the scarcity of the coins. I really like the coins that are shown above, and they are really nice, and I can imagine the time and effort, let alone the cost to have coins graded to get those coins. Due to my disability, I can't go to any shows, which is a great place to find quality coins.

I don't have any AU-58+ coins. I do have many AU-58 coins. Many of them were purchased before the TPGs starting using the + signs.

This 1802 dollar is an AU-58, but it might be too dark for some people's tastes.

and and MS60 DPL that should probably been 58+ if not so darn purty

 

@BlackberryPie here are three AU58+ half dimes. Two of them were in NGC slabs before I crossed them to PCGS for my registry set. The 1831 was NGC 58 and PCGS gave it a plus. The 1833 was in an MS63 slab and I guess they saw some rub on it, but honestly I think 58+ is kind of cool so I wasn't mad. The 1837 I bought in its current grade.

If I got mad at PCGS every time they did something I didn't like, I'd have even less hair than I do right now! A couple of things ease the sting a bit, anyway: I happen to love the coin for one. And, I only paid $100 more for it in its NGC63 slab than I paid for the 1837 in its PCGS58+ slab. So the difference isn't that big. Someday when my grandkids liquidate the set, I hope they find an "everyman" collector who digs 58+ coins.

 

58+ coins can bring more $$ than some MS coins. I’ve been offered $450 on my AU58+. This one 1 of 3 current 58+ memorial cents at PCGS.

 

can't argue that as I doing one of those everyman sets and 58+ is as high as most go paid more for my 58 "No Cents" lib nickle then an MS62 would have cost me... I'll add her to the other 58s lol
