Can anyone please help me identify what type of error this is? The weight is correct I believe at 2.2g The edges are perfectly smooth like a penny. The rim around the obverse is very high and about normal for the inverse/reverse. If you have a guess on value, that would be great too... Thank you everyone.
Spooned coin. The art of spooning or tapping of small hammer along the rim to make a ring eventually.
Not a mint error. Not everything that looks different, strange or weird is automatically an error. Thanks for sharing though.
Thank you everyone. I am new to this, and you just saved me some money! The owner of the coin is the manager of a gas station and got it out of a roll of dimes. He didn't know what it was either.... or did he? lol I think I will give him the nick name of Soundgarden as in the band that does the song "Spoon Man"... Again, thanks!
What would that be? A coin to put in the washer at the laundromat to start the machine? I think you mean dryer coin damage. But it's not. It's clearly an altered edge done with a spoon or hammer. Welcome to CoinTalk.
