What is this called? Worth saving? I'm referring to the top right serial number #8

Slight misalignment. No extra value....

 

i was thinking thats probably called counterfeit.eh what do i know.

 

Some collectors call it a “Turned Digit”

 

was thinking on a scale of one to ten its around a 7 &3/4.

 

Why wouldn't it be a printing error?
Reason being the mint printed the '8' that is misaligned with the other numbers!
Am I wrong?

 

Paper currency is printed in different stages.
The serial number I believe is the last part of the proccess. I have also seen it referred to as a Stuck Digit.

I've seen some novice collectors call it a gas pump error.

Live and learn, it’s not counterfeit. It’s a stuck digit and it happens more than you think. Not worth a lot but neat to find.

 

i think it totally groovatious. i wouldnt settle for any less then a bazillion bucks for it.ive never seen one like that before and weather or not its an error i havent a clue but i bet if you call the mintmaster someone gets their but smacked.

is the digit moving up or down it could be worth a lil, more or less.

 

Umm it appears to be higher than the rest of the serial number

 

I believe the digits move from bottom to top.
