    I've got this ID'ed as an S-22.
    The slab has it ID'ed as a 1794/Head of 1794.
    BUT
    I can't account for the apparent die crack from in front of the face up to the "R".
    Nor the apparent die crack diagonally from the top of the hair over to the "LI".
    OR
    Are they die scratches and not die cracks?

    It looks like an S-21 to me. I see traces of the second crack from the top of the head to "LI" in "LIBERTY." on the high grade pieces in the Noyes book, but I don't see the mark in front of the face.

    Are you sure that it is raised, which would be die crack, and not into the coin with farrow raised by the displaced metal, which would be a scratch?

    I don't think those are die cracks, rather look like scratches to me. Anyway, I can't make it look like S-21. The obverse looks more like S-58 with the doubling at the bottom of the lowest lock of hair but the reverse doesn't match S-58. So, I'm stumped.

    S-22 "mounds" variety.

    Thanks for all the responses.
    @Jack D. Young particularly.
    I saw what I thought might be "mounds" but I don't have enough experience to be sure.

    I think they're scratches too. Hard to be sure from a picture though.

    Well, I see the obverse die crack from rim through the upright of 4 and then to the bust that is LDS for S-22. I also see the reverse die bulge (?) affecting the upper leaves of the right wreath, also characteristic of S-22.

    What is the "mounds" a reference to?

    Nice S-22. However, those look like scratches and not die cracks.
