I can't imagine why my spell check didn't catch that. Anyway, The Mint did make the Unlimited Silver Proof Set, but it cost me $201. It was shipped out yesterday.
The way the mint issue prices are going these days, the 60+ year old Proof sets are cheaper to buy than the new stuff. I finally completed the Proof set run from 1936 to date. Now I feel like keeping the run intact but only with the silver sets. That does not include the latest set. I am quite happy with the cent through half dollar set that was issued earlier in the year.
It was the beer talking, trying to make a play on your sentence, in which I think you thought you were searching for the term planchet, but you were actually correct in that the name is in fact blank that the mint acquires or punches themselves. It is not a planchet until it is run through an upsetting mill.
