I’m need help trying to figure out what is going on with the lettering on this nickel. I see what appears to be some doubling, especially on the word ‘Liberty’ and the date. On other words like ‘God’ and ‘Trust’ I see serrated lines coming off the letters. Same thing is happening on the reverse side.
In addition to the photos, I had to include screen shots to show what I’m talking about.

    Thoughts?

    Die Deterioration issue.
Not a true Doubled die variety.

    Just worthless doubling.

The only thing I have seen like that are die trails, https://www.traildies.com/ but there is not a known example for 1962. It is more likely to be a severe case of die deterioration.
