I was the same as you Jim..........processing forever, but they (mint) did finally deliver the goods. I'd call them and find out what's up.
I did not get that letter, and I am glad for that. My Purple Heart Hall of Honors half-dollars and silver dollars are lost in "processing" which I will move to "cancelled." All other orders have been fine, so this tells me commemorative orders and the like are a no-go moving forward. I stayed away from the 2020 and 2021 fiascos, so only burned once, shame on you (mint). No need to be burned twice, shame on me.
After I got my notice that my "purchase" of the Medal of Honor coins/medals, I signed on again and repurchase the half dollar and silver dollar. They split the order and I just, finally, got the Proof Silver Dollar. I got the half dollar a week or so ago and have promptly lost it. I'll find it some time.
The Purple Heart coins are back in stock .... I wish the 3 coin proof set came with the Colorized one. But you can purchase them except the colorized again. https://catalog.usmint.gov/purple-h...ca1=Marketing&cm_mmca2=AtRisk&cm_mmca3=&cc=PH
They might be sending you the rejects that the flippers returned. That’s what I got went I ordered these coins “late in the season.”
Agreed John. Same happened with the hall of fame baseball coins (2014?). I knew they'd be rejects but I needed one for a pocket piece and I wasn't disappointed with the quality.
If they do that, the least they could do is mark them down. I'm sure they'll leap to act on that suggestion.
I finally got the Clad Half Dollar and 2 of the Silver Dollars the first of September. For some reason, I didn't get the color one. Has anyone looked up at ebay to see if the color one is being sold, and how much?
Ouch on the PR70. I would just as soon get the colored one Raw than a PR69. I wonder why so many are Raw? I guess you take a chance if you buy a Raw coin unless they are Raw because they didn't think it was worth it to have it graded.
on the fence about this one. I've bought many in the past but the $201 each ... hmmmm I could buy some new mtb wheels instead of several of these.
$23 more than buying a silver proof set and proof ASE separately, and doesn't include the cent, nickel, or dollar coins.
Well, I got the Silver Proof Set and an ASE-S AND I bought the Unlimited Silver Proof Set. I've got the Unlimited Silver Proof Set for every year except the 2015, mainly because they didn't make them in 2015. I guess I get the Unlimited Silver Proof Sets because it is a silver set. There was an article in Coin World that said due to the lack of ASE's they may not have the Unlimited Silver Proof Set this year. They are getting a little high. They are 99.9% silver now. Some Politian is putting the squeeze on the Director of the Mint and the Secretary of the Treasury. The Politian said they aren't trying hard enough to find a vendor that will provide the silver blanks or whatever they are called.
that makes sense. I was thinking Pelicans .. but that made no sense. But then, when did the US Mint make sense so I figured they had a bunch of Pelicans. lol
If enough people keep buying at these prices, the Mint has no incentive to drop premiums. If enough people don't keep buying at these prices, hey, NEW RARITY, and everybody gets mad about missing out, and doubles down on buying regardless of premiums.
