I was going through my proof and uncirculated sets this afternoon and I found tucked inside one of the envelopes a Stone Mountain 1925 Half Dollar. It is in a holder but is heavily "toned". Is this worth anything significant? I am assuming probably not other than the fact that it is silver.
Like Buzzards circling a wounded animal. We all want to see the "toning" so let me circle with the rest. Please Show it.were dying with anticipation.
All of the old commemoratives carry a nice premium. If in decent shape, it could be worth 40 to 70 bucks, more if AU or BU. And yes, post pics!!!! I LOVE the Stone Mountain commem. It is a great design.
I'm having difficulty getting good pictures with my camera. I've seen all of the great posts on how to take good pictures. I think my camera sucks. It's old. I need to get a better one. I did a little reasearch on this coin and apparently over 1M were made and they were not popular. Many of them were spent and circulated. This one looks like it has some slight wear. I would grade it EF45. Is every coin minted by the US Mint legal tender even commemoratives?
