I always wanted to get another one. My Dad picked one of these out of circulation (he saved almost no coins & currency). For some years I displayed it in my office in a holder on the wall. Then when I had to close my office my father-in-law (my Dad has passed away years before) helped clean the office and the note disappeared. I think he tossed it not knowing what it was.

It was in really bad condition tho: maybe a VG.

    Recent acquisition from Poland.

    Sigismond III, 1/4 taler {Ort}, 1622 unc-details cleaned

I wanted a high-grade taler of Sigismond III but apparently, those are quite expensive so I settled for 1/4 taler for now. It seems highly detailed and the cleaning {if any} does not seem too bad for a 400 year-old coin.

Also, I visited the Malbork {Teutonic Castle, 1290's?) in Poland but didn't have a chance to get anything good at the souvenir shop. At the same auction there was a Polish Teutonic schilling of a grand Master (of the Order) who passed away at that Castle in 1449.

Teutonic Schillings usually sell for $200, but by going up to $217 I was able to get this one. NGC ms-62, Erlichshausen, undated but struck 1441-1449.

Me at the treasury room of the Malbork Castle, Poland, where my schilling was undoubtedly stored back from 1449. The castle was heavily damaged during WW-2: the Germans were in it and the Russians forced them out with artillery fire. It has been beautifully restored to original condition.

Malbork Castle: in 1945 & today.

Nice ! I was in to Morgans back in the day as there really cool :)
but now that I am older I am investing in my grand kids future
buying allot of GOLD bullion, and $20 liberties and saints, but it would
be great to get back in the Morgan seen :)

  7. Always welcome to come back to the Morgan scene, what you see there is 1/10th of a saint. I'm sure you can afford it.

I never thought that I would be able to add one of these to my type set. Thanks to the miracle of lay-a-ways it will be mine in a month or so. It also has a green bean. FR-2BN with a lettered edge.

That is really nice for a FR-02. That's about where I'll have to be for my type set but most of the lower grade ones I've seen are much worse looking than yours. Congratulations!

Thank you. The fact that it is not a details coin is what made me jump on it. The seller being willing to work with me sealed the deal.

Lincoln Plaque by Brenner Front View.jpg
At VDB Coins we have always wanted one of these Lincoln bronze plaques designed by Victor D Brenner and copyrighted 1907, two years before the launch of the Lincoln cents. This one has what appears to be some light cleaning residue but still a marvelous example. This wonderful plaque bears some striking similarities (and differences) from the as-issued cents.

    Kind regards,

    George

FleaBay. The listing was worded strangely. No mention of HK or So-Called Dollars.

The ones that are worded properly are priced a bit high for the condition, 2 are raw and 1 slabbed AU and they’re 215,240 and 270.

Not sure I got a spectacular deal, but it fit my budget. This one was raw and looks slightly polished. Probably wouldn't straight grade, but I got it for $135 shipped.

If fits nicely with my HK-870's. Now I need to find a Type I and II.

I was able to acquire an HK-820 Montana Dollar affordably too.
