I have the 1964 half http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...6873035&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_544wt_939
Looks like a very nice coin, But the price has to be right!! Wouldnt go much More then $7 on it, But that depends how bad you want it !!
I don't recommend buying any coin when you can't see photos of both sides. The auction is almost over, so it's probably too late to ask the seller for additional photos. Chris
Ask the seller if they have a photo of the reverse, but another thing to consider is what I told you on your other thread about Kennedy's. If the reverse looks as good as the obverse on this one, don't go over $7 for it.
Maybe you could provide him with name and address of any bank in England that has a constant supply of Kennedy halves.
First off that is a 65 so I dont think there is any silver in it..but I could be wrong. So you might want to double check. I get common Ben franklin halves for 7-8 bucks a piece (which actually contain silver) just something for you to think about
It's hard to tell with that photo and no reverse image. The coin may have been dipped (cleaned lightly) as well. I would look for another or buy at a local shop if you have a dealer who sells American coins so you can inspect the coin in person. If you had to return this coin due to a problem on the reverse side you'd loose money on return postage.
These dates contain a silver-clad (40%) composition of metals: 1965 1966 1967 1968-D 1968-S 1969 1969-S 1970-D 1970-S If you are getting into US Coins, consider picking up a copy of Yeoman's Red Book [link is to Amazon UK]
That seems like a lot for that coin... anyone? I mean the $7 mentioned seems like a lot... not to mention the $9 (with shipping) that the coin sold for. Am I out of touch here?
Be patient. I never pay more than 3.00 total for a 40% silver Kennedy. I've bought really crummy ones for that price, and some really nice ones for 3 bucks. The cheap ones will come around.
