Yes, agree on the 1-2% overall. I just receive an auction I won of 50 rolls of 1955-S. Not OBW, but many of the rolls obviously were taken from OBW as they had OBW-toned end coins, and consistent toned edge colors. Most of these rolls were mediocre, though I did find many RPMs, BIEs, and a few DDOs in them. Out of the first 25 rolls I searched, I found one roll that was simply beautiful. These rolls were obviously pulled from a wide range of sources, and thus storage conditions. This one roll was stored "just right".
That's a LOT of work! Did you find any 66 and up examples? That's where I focus my searches, I've probably missed quite a few varieties over the years because I'm so focused on grade.
I just finished the search on the 50 rolls. It was quite a mix! I found 8 rolls of "interesting" coins...DDOs, various RPMs, various BIEs, including some new stages that I need to photograph and post here for folks to peruse. Also found 3 toned rolls like we've been talking about, two of which are beautiful, and the other probably was beautiful but at some point after it toned was subject to condensation. I plan to shoot some of these and share here as well. On top of all that, I found 15 RPM #1s, a few of which are probably MS66 or higher, plus quite a few gem coins which should also be MS66 or higher, and many of them nicely toned. So while there were some problem coins and rolls, the interesting stuff far outweighed them, and I am happy.
Looking forward to see the toners and high grade coins! In my experience, finding nice toners in rolls is generally rare.
