Some might recall my box of 20 threads; I like to mix it up and have a little of everything as opposed to sticking to one series. I know it is hard to limit any collection to a box of 20 but I thought it would be fun to try with world silver coins (and that can allow me to expand my other box of 20, so as you can tell, I'm stretching the rules of the concept ). My goals here are that it has to be a silver coin, a design that I find interesting, and an eye appealing coin. I'd like to hear some thoughts on the following list-which of these would you include, which would you drop, and what could be a potential replacement (for something dropped)? Currently there is a heavier lean towards Latin America but I believe there is a solid balance of most areas (although I know some regions aren't represented at all). Some gorgeous coins in that first post. I love the concept of a Box of 20. Variety is so nice while still having a "theme".
Wow, nice looking box of 20. I really love the toning, and the uniqueness of the coins. Great selections. Finishing off with that beautiful Trade Dollar is a nice touch.

And two from that last update have since moved to new homes (the squared quarter and the klippe).
Nice grouping. Only thing I would add is a large German thaler. With so many designs, time periods and values, I'm certain you'd find one that would fit nicely in the collection. And possibly a large French Ecu.
Don't the British or some of their commonwealths have silver issues? Sorry if this is an ignorant question, I do not actively collect world coins.
I had never seen one of those Peruvian un sol pieces. It inspired me to find one to add to my large World silver collection. Beautiful coins.
Bermuda and some of the other islands have large silver crown-sized pieces, I just traded a Bermuda crown in fact today!
It's a perfectly good question. Britain and the commonwealths have plenty. I plan to use the British Trade Dollar (even though it was meant to be used in Asia) as my British representative.
Personally a really nice toned sower 1 franc would look really nice here. And of course some 16th and 17th c British coins. If not earlier
I’d certainly add a British Trade Dollar and would also look into old German Talers, French Deniers and Spanish Escudos. I don’t like « white » coins and would only buy nicely toned coins with eye appeal.
Here are some of my favourites I would recommend, some of which I have and others on my bucket list: 1. A German “Three Brothers” or “Wildman”. Also a city view if I had the money… 2. A Russian rouble. There are lots of options here ranging from 18th century portraits up through the 1913 Romanov anniversary commemorative. As for Soviet the 1924 design is a personal favourite. 3. Dutch Lion Dollar. These are crudely struck and don’t look pretty but have an important historical connection to the US colonies. 4. Chinese “fat man” dollar, or a dragon dollar if you really want to splurge. On your list the Caballito is one I’d really like to get sometime, along with a nice US Philippines peso.

Those are all good options! Personally, I've never been the biggest fan of the wildman design (although I know they are quite popular). I've owned several Russian Roubles (including two of the 1913 Romanov anniversary examples) but don't currently have one (sold all of those because I either got a good offer or didn't like some of them). I'll likely pick up another in the future if I find one with good eye appeal. The Dutch Lion Dollar I like too but it's further down the want list (still a possibility though). Chinese coins are pretty much off the list because they have some of the highest prices and to me the designs aren't that much better than the Japanese Yen (with its dragon). Edit: the Caballito has been high on my list but it's also one that I don't have high hopes for with the large increases (an MS 64 could be had for around 400 in the pre 2020 spike but now it's well over $1,000). I bid on a nice looking AU 58 several months back but lost (went for over 500 if I recall correctly).
