I love finding pre 1965 nickels. But a silver one that is a nice find. What kind of condition is it in?

it's good at best. definitely not a high quality one. i did check for the 3 over 2 and the double P but saw neither. so it's just an old worn out nickel with some silver in it. i'm still excited to have found it in our change.

then i immediately wondered where the nickel came from and if there were more still there. i figured from the wear it had probably just been in circulation for a long time and nobody ever really looked at it before.

There are definitely still some circulating out there. However it doesn't take long for a coin collector or curious finder to research and sell/keep it.

well since this is my first and only silver nickel, it's a keeper.

    Nice find regardless of condition.

I went through some change and came across an 1893 IH cent in VF condition.

Ah silver, could you find anything better in your random change...maybe gold, but silver is more likely.

A silver find is always a good find.
