I am about to embark on roll searching a box of halves from my bank via Loomis. It was hinted previously in this forum by a poster that Loomis pulls their silver coins from their finished rolls. Can anyone substantiate that or is this an urban legend?
All I know is those rumors have been circulating around for many years on all the coin reserve services. Now don't fall over backwards but when we searched we were doing some 16 boxes a week at the height of it. Near almost impossible to do that volume today with no more counting machines in the banks to handle your dumps. But we'd go many times 8-12 boxes without a single 40%'er. My point is, if you go "skunk" on this one, it's not evidence they're taking out silver. Even the next 10 boxes, it's not. It happens.
