Ok, here is a denomination first making its appearance in GB in 1982. Or did it? This is a slabbed and certified 20 P dated 1963: Well it is a pattern and struck in silver, fairly scarce....
LOL! You would ask. Well, the other side is, well, .........blank. Many patterns had the word "MODEL" on opposite side but this one does not. I do however have the pattern obverse:
Wow, obverse did not post. My copper does not look as nice as those in Offa's picture, but the larger coins in my set are silver, not copper nickel. Let me see if I can post the obverse again:
I never knew about these, rather nicer than what actually went into production. Digging around I found this additional piece, clearly part of the same set - but uniface and in aluminium.
