1990 missing IN GOD

    Are these common? I have not heard of this type of error before.

    That looks like post mint removal.

    I see traces of it which says to me that it was a grease filled die, worth only a small premium to some collectors.

    Anyone else see it that way?

    It doesn't look like anyone tried to removed it (IN GOD) after it left the mint. I believe it is grease filled. I posted an even closer photo and an inversion.

    If someone had removed the letters it would have exposed the underlying zinc, so it's definitely not that.
