2002 D Penny letters on otter edge

    Hi I hope everyone's having a wonderful Monday. I was hoping someone could tell me something about this penny. I see letters on the edge of the Obverse above the word trust. Is this something that may have happen at the mint? If the pictures aren't clear enough let me know and I can take more.

    Sorry, but post mint damage. It was squeezed against another coin after it left the mint

    The letters on the rim are backwards so that clearly shows the coin was put in a vise grip with another coin. It’s damaged.
