Franklin halves are great, and very affordable. You have a 1963-D. The book says its worth 13 bucks in mint state 63.
Looks like you have a FBL Franklin, full bell lines. It's a nice coin. Usually Franklins and Kennedys go for 10x face, but yours looks possibly AU, maybe even MS which puts it in the $10 range.
Hello everyone, AU is for Almost uncirculated, and MS is for Mint State. I suggest you buy the Offical Guide to United States Coins, aka The RedBook. This book answered so many of these types of questions that when i was done I thought i knew all there was. Then I came here..... Regards, Stan
Great idea! This book is a must have for anyone who ever wants to make money or save money when collecting coins. :secret:
Alrighty then, I've never been one to refuse a prayer. :thumb: Just an fyi, you can buy those Redbooks on ebay for slightly under $15 delivered on a BIN price and maybe less in auction if you're in a BFE area.
Your Franklin looks AU to me, worth about $5. Take a look at my Franklin set linked below for everything you ever wanted to know about the series.
Its in my sig line, below. But just for you, here's another link: http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=6638
Awesome collection. You worked hard getting those Franklins. I love that 52 with the toning on the leftside of the bell on the reverse.
Thanks! Yes, I spent roughly 7-8 years assembling that collection. You have a good eye - the 1952 is one of my favorites also.
