I just bought a wheat cent roll off of eBay and I was wondering if anyone else did and what their results were.

    I have not.

I can tell you that, 99+% of the time you'll be disappointed. It depends who you buy from, and what price you pay. If you pay a couple of dollars a roll, expect common 1940-58 coins. If you pay $10 a roll, expect them to throw in a semi-key date. If you pay $50 a roll, expect a $30 coin and a bunch of commons, etc.

There are no unsearched rolls on eBay. So, if you purchase at a price where you assume everything you get will be common, you cannot be disappointed.

I know there are no unsearched ones but hopefully there will be a couple I will need. And there is an Indian Head with it.

No I have never purchased an unsearched wheat roll.

But based on what others who have purchased unsearched wheat rolls have said, you're better off simply saving and getting the coins you need in the grade you want, instead of blindly purchasing rolls in the hopes of acquiring your coins that way.

What about buying large quantities of coins?

They through that Indian Head to get people sucked into that roll..I can guarantee that 99.99% will be a common date and in poor to maybe good condition. (yes it can be temping to buy one at times)

if it sounds to be good to be true then it probably is :)
