So for you this presentation went from "nice" to "super nice" since your first post in this same thread, post #2....?

It is indeed a 'super nice' presentation. :eek:hya:

I guess memory didn't serve but your impression improved upon the second read, assuming of course that you actually read the whole thread the second time you replied and missed your own first post in the process... :hammer:

For the portrait on this note, Alfons Mucha had his daughter's image used for the portraits used on this note:

It is most likely that, but not as certain, that his daughter was the subject of this note also:

More Mucha! Woo hoo! My fav is the portrait on the red 50. Very bohemian. :)

This note from Algeria appears to have been designed my Mucha, but I can't distinguish the signature. It sure has the right characteristics. The specialized catalog doesn't say, and a little googling around hasn't helped me any, or turned up any connection between Mucha and Bone, Algeria, but I'm going to guess it's his art.

The Bone note appears to have been done by a French artist, but in the style of Mucha. During the period between 1900 and the early 1920's there were several French artists and even a couple of Germans that had worked in the form of Mucha. The signature is definitely not Mucha's - he signed his works with just Mucha with a hash mark over the h and a slash under the signature and usually the date.

But that 50 cts note is lovely - a real nicely done note for what was otherwise a fairly diminutive denomination.

Great presentation. Great artwork on AND off the notes, especially liked the portrait of Mucha. Thanks for posting IKANDIGGIT.

The thanks should go to Scottish Money, Dave M and Ripley for enhancing the content of the presentation with their additional notes and details about Mucha.:bow::bow:

We finally got a nice sunny day here and I happened to come across this image. Seemed to be appropriate...
