Was wondering why my 1972 D kennedy half dollars edge is different from the rest. One example shown. I can't find this possible error. Thanks in advance.
Made of silver?not possible,to me it appears to have just been plated a really long time ago(damage)can you get weight estimates.
keep in mind edges get worn, especially after 50 years. If you ever want to look at edge wear on coins then go to a laundrymat that still uses quarters. Those edges get a lot of wear. Get $10, 20, 50 in quarters from the machines and look at the older quarter edges. Larger coins used to be used in casino's. I think I found my source of half dollars: a casino | Coin Talk
True. But the picture shown is not a worn down edge. What they mean is that there is no sign of a clad over copper core appearance. It's all silver color. The half in question is on the right side.
The piece was put away since 1972 by my Aunt because she saved all dates of coins from when her kids were born. It's in great condition? Maybe I should finally send a coin away. I just never wanted to do it
Sorry took me so long, but I didn't have tissue so this is with toilet paper? I'll go get tissue and try again
I don't see any difference in the tones. It's clad. Here is a 64/71 And the TP test. Here is the 70D (40%) and the 71
