If you think yours is in worse shape please post it.
    This is the obverse:

    This is the reverse:

And you’re saying to yourself, “How can he tell?” I can see part of the IGWT motto at the top left in the first photo. It’s the same coin but I must have gotten to the side a little as only 1 of the 3 holes shows through on the reverse. Not worth retaking the photo.

And here’s the side photo to show how thin it is. I can’t weigh it but it’s very light.

I've seen lots that were worse but I wasn't certain they were pennies at all.

Kudos. that might be the worst looking zinc cent ever.

People just won't learn that zinc pennies can't be exposed to air or they evaporate.

That is so true. Once the coin starts to deteriorate it can’t be stopped.

This sure looks like the worst identifiable zinc cent!

    Where did you find it?

I found it in a garage in the 1990’s.

Looks like a 1984 cent, or what’s left of it.

So far no one has posted one that’s worse. It’s the worse one I’ve seen.

I've had some ruff corroded ones, but no it's not worth sending off to PCGS to grade :D I'm sure that's where you were headed with that one.
I've thrown out some that were more identifiable.

Urinal coin (penny). Seen plenty of those during my years on the USS Midway. When our head would get backed up every so often, HT's would go in and pull out the pipes. A few dozen pennies would roll out the end of the pipe, clogged at an elbow on the pipe that serviced a bank of half a dozen urinals. Combination of urine and sea water causes that at a very quick rate.

No pictures because back then the only pix you could take required the film to be developed. Didn't want to spend money, time and film on such. Now that we've got cell phone camera's and it costs basically nothing to take pix and post on the internet, we can see such.

I picked one up in the road this morning on a walk.
Pretty scratched up but recognized it as a zink.
It's the lucky cent for the day.
