That's a very sweet looking 'working mans' Barber. I like it, a lot.
    Old cleaning maybe?

Very nice Barber Dime. I would grade it XF-45 and looks like it may have been cleaned a long time ago, and would be market acceptable now.

Neat toning,I like it and agree with a old cleaning.A bunch of hairlines are visible and the milky toning pattern,I'll give it a VF 35.

I can see it as an XF-45.

I use it to fill the 16D hole in my old Whitman Mercury book 38AFF1BE-E439-4F7B-9C26-E3D41F59C7D4.jpeg A48911C1-C665-4FFA-9523-B1CB59688D66.jpeg

here we go... I looked at a lot of AU and xf coins. this was my favorite of the bunch and was very happy to win the auction well under list :D I almost skimmed right past her but glad I looked at the close-up pics as the slab pics don't do her any justice :D

Seriously seriously pissed at the seller/dealer right now... Got this email this morning...

    Order Canceled:
Hello, I hate to have to cancel orders, but I am at the long beach coin show and this coin sold just before you bought it. I have processed the refund, you should see it shortly. I apologize for the inconvenience and hassle this may have caused.
    Regards,

The problem being I bought the coin Thursday Night... The Show in long beach didn't open until Friday... Meaning he sold my coin AFTER I bought it not Before... I have pointed this out to the seller and while I don't expect more from him then "too bad so sad" I won't "out" him until I hear back from him again.. I always give dealers/sellers a chance to make nice nice 1st :D On the otherhand, you can probably expect a Rant/warning post before the weekend is over :D

He may have sold it before the show was open. Dealers are buying and selling on setup day.

Selling a coin you have up for auction before the close of said auction is BS any way you look at it.

That would require the dealer to end all auctions before the show or watch every coin while at the show.

Either way selling the same coin twice and telling one of the customers you're SOL is poor business any way you look at it.

No question. The guy made a mistake.

I'd venture to say no mistake was made. My guess is he hedged his bet.

Offer it in the auction. Bring it to the show. The highest offer/bid gets the coin.

It was a calculated decision on the sellers part. No mistake.

Oh a positive note, that gave me the money to make an offer on a spiffy 1/2 cent... Now I just gotta wait for the wanker (sorry if that wanker is a member here :D) wakes up and accepts :D
