Many congratulations! I can't tell you how many thousands of dollars of circulated nickels I've searched and not found a single one.

What nickels have you been searching? I have searched three rolls and found like 5 30/40/50s already.

But how many 1939 D nickels have you found? (my guess is zero) That is what he was responding to......

were they 1939 D's though? That is a key date/mint.

No just regulars. You'd be pretty lucky to find a D in circulation.

Very true! I've been cherry picking nickels for about twenty years, and came up with only one 1939-D in that time. I doubt they will be more plentiful anytime in the future.:(

Yeah it is definitely rare to find them, I would love to find one, that don't sell too high for on eBay considering how rare they are.

They are out there you just need to look, $5 is crazy to pay for a one year old circ strike.

Are you referring to the 2009s or the 1939s? By the way I forgot to mention, kimdehart was kind enough to send me a 2009-P nickel, 2009-P dime, and a 2010-P/2010-D Union Shield Penny. Thank you so much!

This sound believable but simply not true.

I have searched through 20 bank rolls of nickels per week for the past three months. I have found common date buffalos, war nickels, and even a 50-D, but not a single 2009-P. I'm really tempted to buy a roll on eBay. It looks like they all were sent to Puerto Rico because that's where all the sellers are located.

Somebody mentioned having a 2009P nickel to mail.
If true I need one for my collection. It will be 2016P back as far as I can get. 2009P is the only thing missing.
