Do you even know how postal and carrier networks route parcels and letters? They use hubs and yes mailing something across town could potentially depending on geographic location between two points and the routes letters/parcels travel, could mean the item goes way out of it's way to go someplace very near. I figured as a dealer who does this stuff frequently you'd have some grasp of the situation buy your kung fu grip is slipping all over this thread.
I think we are going to need to upgrade you from CRAZY to something more severe at this point. You want to leave negative feedback, think you are getting poor customer service, and would never buy from the E-Bay seller again simply because you found out the seller lives in the same town. If the seller lived 10 miles further away, you would simply have paid the sale price plus S & H, waited for the item to arrive, and probably left postive feedback with 5 stars once it did. But because the seller lives in your little town, you believe that you are entitled to the special priviledge of having your item hand delivered to you. Not only do you not want to pay for the service of having the item delivered to you, you also think you shouldn't have to pay the agreed shipping charges. In your words GIVE US A BREAK!
There is nothing unfair or unethical with the way the seller reacted to the OP's request -- IMO....Mike
I don't understand the comments of not doing business with him again either. If he hand delivers the coin, he looses money on the deal. If he mails it as was the agreed upon terms, he breaks even. It is a no brainer!
"There is nothing unfair or unethical with the way the seller reacted to the OP's request -- IMO....Mike " I've seen this used many times....what does "OP" stand for?
i can see both sides of this, so i'm going to chime in with some thoughts... first, why risk mailing it? it could get lost in the mail, or stolen by a postal employee. take a friend or two along, deliver it by hand, and then the buyer CAN'T come back and say they never received it. (not saying the op would make such an accusation) second, why risk meeting someone in person? mayberry does not exist anymore. the buyer (again, not saying anything about the op) could bring along several friends and mug the seller. now, the buyer has his wallet, which contains his drivers license and address, keys, and everything else. personally, i would not risk #2 and would mail it, unless you literally lived next door to me. or maybe across the street. then again, that's a long walk and there are on coming cars... :goofer:
Then you can see my point! Why mail something Clear out of the Area when you could just basically walk next store and give it to Him:rolling:
Please refer to #20 in this post, I said i would still give him positive But ding him on the shipping to two stars, My opinion he could have Handled the delivery differently !!
No. your point isn't following the situation according to the OP. And your reactions thus far haven't warranted common sense nor reasonable responsibility in regards to the transaction nor in establishing a repore with the Seller for future relations.
Just call it a difference of opinion then!! You have yours and i have mine!! Some of the things in this transaction dont make any sense at all, For $3 whole dollars!!
Once again I will point out your err in regards to the OP, it's not "$3 whole dollars!!" but rather $3.50 s/h. This is not opinion but rather the principal of the matter in the fallacy of the customer, the custom is often not right and needs to be reminded of the policies with which they have agreed to the terms of a contract with a given merchant... but of course they are always the customer. The customer must be respected and informed and served, but not allowed to dictate outside the bonds of the Sellers terms. Its plain and simple, the rules are clear and not open to interpretation unless otherwise allowed by the Seller per specific and individual request. Period.
Ten minutes from one end of town to the other, yet its not impossible that the USPS could lose the package. This thread would take a very interesting turn in that event.
This going to sound strange to those that don't play poker, but I feel pot committed to this thread even though I know there is no way to win. Heck with it, I fold.
I beg to differ!! There is not one right answer here!! People Do things differently and think differently and based on this Transaction the buyer and seller should have been able to Meet since they were so close (AGAIN MY OPINION!!!) I think we can go around and around here and still end up At the start, So i will bow out of this thread and taking my Opinion with me!!
You live in your own made up world rejecting reality because you continue to fail to see the terms of the auction, yet insist on your right to change those terms after the fact when, given the situation the OP began this thread with, subscribed to the terms of the agreement by bidding before requesting a change be made in policy. "Should have been able to Meet since they were so close" is not in the terms of the auction nor was it allowed at the Sellers discretion after the fact of the Buyer placing a bid in agreement with said terms. This is not about doing thing differently, this is about the situation as posed by the OP, not your hypothetical scenarios of how others choose to do business or to think. You don't get an opinion in a binding auction contract, it's an agreement. The Seller in the OP had every right to decline meeting the Buyer. We are not going around and around Rusty, you clearly fail to understand the principal of the matter at hand and insomuch bring about the misery of the situation yourself because you cannot live with the fact that you do not read fully before you act. Anyone who reads the masses of posts you make in threads could determine this prior to this thread illustrating the point. Take your bow as you choose to now, but I'm sure it won't be your last doing things in your opinion, differently.
