Has anyone obtained a copy of the 2011 edition, in hand? UPS reports that mine is out for delivery and I am scheduled to receive mine today (Weds 07 April 2010)...
Got my tracking code today. I ordered it like March 30th but it didn't come out until just yesterday. It is on next day air though and was shipped today so hopefully it will be here tomorrow.

Hey Cheifbullsit, Have had my 2011 Redbook for a couple of weeks now. the '08 Buffalo in proof is $2800 and in Burnished is $2200, the 08' four coin set is in Unc. $4700, prf. $5500 and the Double Prosperiity Set is $2300 in Unc. The '09W Buffalo in Proof is $1400 Hope that helps....:0
I am not one that buys the Redbook every year, but is there enough new stuff in there to justify replacing my "08 Redbook in anyone's opinion?
UPS delivered it today around 6pm! Have already reviewed the Colonial and Pre-Federals. Planning to post a delta a little bit later on what's been updated pursuant to Colonials and Pre-Federals.
I have the 2005 one so I think it is about time I got this one :\ According to UPS it will be here tomorrow. For some reason I got free shipping and it is overnight shipping.
I have the 2009 Redbook. I got it free from Heritage last year. They had a promotion that if you purchased a coin during a specific month, they would mail you a copy of the Redbook. The next time Heritage decides to have that promotion is the next time I will obtain a new Redbook. I don't use it for pricing coins and I don't collect modern coins, therefore the one I have will suffice for the foreseeable future.

My biggest interest is in the Colonial and Pre-Federals. Though pricing and grading is somewhat ambiguous for these, I believe that the Red Book does have an influence in market pricing.
Sure... In my opinion, there isn't much guidance in the Red Book for grading Colonials and Pre-Federals; except for perhaps the guidance provided on pg. 9 (2010/2011 editions). Better guidance exists in other books (Breen's, Martin's, et.al.), as well as through historical auction sales, but in my opinion many less sophisticated sellers don't consult these sources. Based on that, in my opinion, less sophisticated sellers may not accurately grade their Colonials and Pre-Federals, and subsequently 'over-grade' their coins and erroneously price them as such. (Now and then, sellers 'under-grade', but that's much less common!) Further complicating matters, there is scant guidance on diagnostics. And of course, if Red Book pricing changes, then market pricing changes! Others may disagree... this is only my two-cents.
I collect the Redbook, along with coins, so naturally I say yes. Howevere as a collector I also say yes. As they publish new errors, mintage totals. This was we can see price changes, none usually drastic but more important is the mintage totals. Easier to see what the low mintage coins are. of course a few great members here do that monthly as well. Regards, Stan
