It looks lightly circulated....is it or is it just the photo??

the reason I say that is because I don't see much luster and the jaw looks like it has seen circulation some...

Here is a photo of my 31-S...I lighten the photo to show detail...I think it would grade MS63B or RB...

If you sent it to SGS, I bet they'd give it an ms-70 :D

It has Full Cartwheel Luster with no sign of wear but my scanner will not pick up the true look of the coin.

Ah...that tells me why....a scanner will always wash out the look and not show the luster....I would suggest that you find a camera---the photos will look better.

So...what do you think NGC will grade it??....also has this coin gone though what you do??...if so do you have a scan of what it looked like before??

    Zane....yep--MS70 at least...maybe MS71!!!

Getting a new camera is the next thing on my list. :)

This was a recent "as is" purchase for my collection. I will post some coins with before and after shots on my site in the near future.

I'm hoping for MS65 Red or better.

I think it would definitely get an ms71, as that's nicer than any ms-70 I've seen in an SGS slab :D

If PCGS goes to the 100 point sys then I might get a better grade then 71!!!!!

I was going to say the color is wrong, but I suppose that it could just be the scasnner image. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong, if not it will be BB'd for cleaning/AT

Yes if your going to take pictures of coins, get a digital camera. However, wait a few more weeks and the Christmas sales will start.

You know what, it looks beautiful. I'd say you have a chance for that MS64/65RD, never give up trying :D OTOH, it sure answered a question I've had for awhile. I have a 31-S and sure enough the (S) is all filled in and scrunched looking at the top. Mine is nowhere as nice as this one. More along VF-XF.

    Thanks for posting it.

Here is a croped and enlarged (scanned) picture. I think it came out better that with the camera.

Thanks Bone....the fake I had was more faked with the 31 (it was soo light you almost couldn't read it and I think it was made from a 21...) than the S but I was just wondering if they would look alike...
    Thanks again...
