hello i have this 1965 dime and i just cant figure it out.its surface feels really strange and the metal feels real soft like silver or magnesium.it also has what i think is copper all over it mixed with the metal content.same as front and back.to run your fingernail across it lightly it feels like soft metal not copper or nickel plating. It is corrosion and nothing more. We call it environmental damage. It is not an error.

    Thanks,
    Bill
