You guessed it, I’ve had this coin for over 25 years. Getting near the end of the box though so it’ll soon be time to open another one. The excitement is building for me. This is graded by PCGS as a MS 64 with the old green label. It is a 1931S Buffalo nickel and the slab has light scratches. This is a good date as only 1,200,000 were minted. I’m surprised as I got all three photos to upload today.
Nice nickel, Dave! This date/MM combination are known for soft strikes and this specimen exhibits that very thing. I call it a "mushy" strike.
I agree completely. I even agree with the grade. However, in today’s market it may go a point higher but I won’t be resubmitting it. I happy with it as is in a nice older slab with a 64 grade.
